Hello Ella!
It was great to hear from you, and I found everything you shared about Liverpool so interesting. The Beatles Museum, Albert Dock, and Liverpool FC sound absolutely fascinating! I hope I get the chance to visit one day. Now, let me tell you a bit about my hometown, Konya.
Konya is one of the oldest cities in Turkey and holds great historical significance. It was the capital of the Seljuk Empire, which is why it’s often called the “Capital of the Seljuks.” Konya is also the home of the world-famous philosopher and poet, Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi. Every December, thousands of people visit Konya to attend the Şeb-i Arus ceremonies, which commemorate Rumi’s life and teachings. The Mevlana Museum is one of the most visited attractions in the city.
When it comes to food, Konya’s cuisine is truly unique. Some of the most famous dishes are etli ekmek (a type of flatbread with minced meat), fırın kebabı (oven-roasted lamb), and tirit (a traditional meat dish). If you ever visit Turkey, you absolutely have to try them!
Lastly, the people of Konya are incredibly warm and hospitable. Football is also very popular here. The local team, Konyaspor, is well-loved by everyone in the city, and their green-and-white colors are easy to spot everywhere.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little about my hometown. I’d love to hear more about Liverpool or anything else you’d like to share.
Best wishes,
Yasin
